Fostering Teacher Motivation through Local Team Building

With specific team building tasks for teachers, teacher motivation & staff development can be fostered.

Professional development can be facilitated in a learn-by-doing, very interactive format, and boosting morale for overworked and underpaid teachers might just be the beginning. Teacher motivation & teacher professional development are our goals.

Other outcomes include:

-- seeing things a little differently with a new perspective

Mt. Lebanon High School is establishing a dangerous precedent by
inviting real-world experts into classrooms (Mt. Lebanon wants you in
the classroom," Oct. 29). How will a presentation on water quality by
a real environmental scientist help students prepare for standardized

I need sometime to go through all your contributions because I don't want to upload something that you guys have already done. I am amazed by this but I am happy to be part of it. Regards.

I have a teacher who wants to connect with one of your classes. She teaches media art. How do we make the connection between the teachers?

As to books, there are a vast number of books that are available in audio form. Would this be of interest. There is also reading material in .pdf format. Have you looked into Project Gutenberg? http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page

I have left a note on Classroom 2.0 on the distance collaboration group asking for teachers interested in a connection. Lots of other places to go also.

How many classes do you have with teachers who are really interested in the project? What grades? What goals?

Good to hear from you again Khalil. Looks like things have changed a lot and you have a new face on the site. In answer to you question about interacting with other clases. Let me suggest something.

ESF will post messages that the Morocco Board is looking to collaborate with schools around the world. Send the information and we let you know there is a teacher in the midwest who wants her students to work on African history in exchange for American history, or whatever. I would hope the students would share their cultures among the many other interactions.
